This summary highlights the main points. The complete policy below controls.
- Necessary storage supports sign-in, security, saved preferences, and your consent choice.
- Analytics is optional and stays off until you opt in.
- You can reject analytics without losing core account features.
- A recognized Global Privacy Control signal keeps analytics disabled.
- Use “Cookie preferences” in the footer to change your choice or withdraw consent.
1. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored by a browser. Local storage is a browser feature that stores information on a device without sending it with every web request. Similar technologies may use browser or device identifiers to remember settings, maintain a session, measure use, or support security. This Policy describes how ResWizuses those technologies in the Service.
2. Categories we use
Necessary
These technologies are required to provide requested features, keep accounts signed in, prevent abuse, remember privacy choices, and maintain security. They cannot be disabled through our preference center because the Service would not work properly without them.
Preferences
Preference storage remembers a setting you requested, such as light or dark mode. It is used to provide that requested experience and is not used for advertising.
Analytics
With your permission, analytics helps us understand page views, feature use, performance, and errors so we can improve the Service. Analytics is not required to create an account or use core features, and analytics tools are not loaded until the preference system records consent.
3. Technologies currently used
Exact names can vary by environment, project identifier, and provider configuration. “Duration” is the provider’s typical maximum; a browser, account action, or our configuration may remove information earlier.
| Technology | Provider | Category | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
rw_cookie_consent | ResWiz | Necessary | Stores the version, date, and analytics preference you selected | 180 days |
access_token | ResWiz | Necessary | Authenticates account requests | Up to 7 days or until sign-out |
refresh_token | ResWiz | Necessary | Renews authenticated sessions | Up to 7 days or until sign-out |
| Session, state, and CSRF values | ResWiz / connected sign-in provider | Necessary | Prevents request forgery and completes secure sign-in or connected-service authorization | Session or short-lived |
theme (local storage) | ResWiz | Preferences | Remembers light, dark, or system appearance | Until changed or browser storage is cleared |
| PostHog project cookie or local storage | PostHog | Analytics | Distinguishes sessions or browsers and records consented product analytics | Up to 1 year |
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics, when configured | Analytics | Distinguishes sessions or browsers and measures consented site use | Up to 2 years |
| Tags loaded through Google Tag Manager | Google / configured tag provider, when enabled | Analytics | Loads disclosed analytics tags only after consent; Tag Manager itself does not require a fixed cookie name | Depends on the configured tag |
4. Your controls
On your first visit, choose “Accept analytics,” “Use necessary only,” or “Choose settings.” You may later open “Cookie preferences” in the footer to review or change the choice. Withdrawing consent stops new analytics collection from the Service and clears common analytics identifiers where technically practical. It does not undo processing that occurred lawfully before withdrawal.
You may also delete or block cookies through browser settings. Blocking necessary storage can prevent sign-in or other core features. Clearing browser storage removes your saved choice, so the preference prompt may appear again.
If the browser sends a recognized Global Privacy Control signal, the Service keeps optional analytics disabled. We do not currently use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, but honoring the signal also prevents the optional analytics category from loading in that browser.

6. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy when technologies or legal requirements change. The effective date identifies the current version. A material change to optional use may cause the preference prompt to appear again. Questions may be sent to support@theresumewizard.ai.
